Birdfeeders is an attempt at capturing why people find bird feeders (the common porch friend) so enjoyable. It is something with no clear intention. Something to pass the time, something to converse over if that’s what you’d like. It just happens before you, perhaps unceremoniously like a mourning dove in the late afternoon. Or perhaps everything aligns perfectly and, if only for a few moments, something truly pleasant happens such as that same mourning dove’s blue eyes catching your nondescript ones. It can be something you cannot, nor perhaps would not want to describe. It is nothing miraculous, rather it is something simple but often overlooked. Something quiet and for you. Birdfeeders is for you. Enjoy it while you walk around on a sunny day. Enjoy it while you sit by the window on a rainy one. Put your head against the window and watch things pass by.
